CARUSO IN THE COMMUNITY

Caruso Family Charities Golf Tournament a Rolling Success

Caruso Family Charities’ second annual golf tournament, held August 11 at Rolling Hills Country Club in Golden, raised more than $70,000 for its mission—which is to help families with children battling cancer.

The tournament, a four-man scramble, hosted well over 100 players this year, including Colorado Avalanche head coach Tony Granato and assistant coach Jacques Cloutier. CEO and president of The Children’s Hospital, Jim Shmerling, played to show his support, as well as business partners, friends and employees of Caruso Kitchens.

This year’s tournament, which included a New York Strip Steak and Shrimp dinner, featured a live auction, a $100,000 shoot out, four chances to win a car, a trip to Cancun and many more exciting giveaways. Each golfer also received a pair of Rockies tickets and a pair of custom FootJoy golf shoes.

Special guest speakers included Dave Cohen, who talked about his son Jake’s experience with cancer, and Becky Cort, a social worker from The Children’s Hospital. Their touching stories brought home the reality of the struggles so many families face. The money raised at the event will be used to support families in financial need, especially families with children who are fighting cancer. Whether it’s covering medical bills, helping pay for prescription medications or easing the burden of day-to-day living expenses, Caruso Family Charities has touched the lives of hundreds of Colorado families over the years.
