Liz Majors and her daughter Anne love to cook and entertain. But it was a challenge in the cramped kitchen of their 50-year-old home. With Anne in a wheelchair, a remodel was in order to widen the space and make it easier for her to move around, so Liz went to Caruso Kitchens.
"For years I collected kitchen photos from home decorating magazines," said Liz. "My Caruso Kitchens designer Kim, understood that I wanted a classic, timeless design that won't get old or dated," said Liz.
"Her solution included convenient extras that are within reach of Anne's wheelchair – a lower refrigerator drawer, a knee area below the sink and counter, and even a pull-out shelf for our tv media center. Now, Anne and I can watch the game together when we both come home. I absolutely love it," Liz enthuses.
She added, "I thought I'd find inspiration in the magazines, but I never thought I'd have a magazine kitchen!" Now she truly does.

John and Peggy Basil adore their Wheat Ridge home. But their 40-year-old galley kitchen was outdated and didn’t meet the needs of their family.
“Life in our house revolves around the kitchen, whether it’s cooking meals, doing homework with our three kids, or entertaining,” said Peggy. “Our old kitchen was cut off from the rest of our home and we wanted a design that brought the dining room, family room and kitchen together so that no one – especially the cook – would be left out.”
“We wanted our kitchen to have special features with attention to detail,” said John. “Our Caruso Kitchens designer, Bob, included refrigerated beverage drawers and outlet covers that were hand-painted to match the granite backsplash.”
Peggy added, “And he designed a really functional center island so I can cook while talking with someone seated at the bar. Now I feel connected.”
“We love our Caruso Kitchen!”

Rob Fisher

When prominent Boulder architect Rob Fisher of New West Architecture was hired to remodel the Lyons, Colorado home of Bonnie Richards and Sam Miller, he referred them to Caruso Kitchens to handle their kitchen design.
“We were completing an addition to their home, which has a Craftsman feel,” said Rob. “I knew Caruso Kitchens could carry our architectural style into the kitchen design to blend it with the rest of the home in an elegant way.” “We also wanted to bring a sense of the outdoors into the room,” said Bonnie. “Our Caruso Kitchens designer, Danette, helped us add materials that felt as natural as our surroundings here on the St. Vrain River and she suggested just the right cabinetry with an upscale rustic look I was hoping for.”
“Caruso Kitchens made the experience easy for us,” Sam added. “In the end, we got a drop dead gorgeous kitchen that was beyond our expectations.”
